The Zeta Lambda Education Foundation promotes educational initiatives through the following programs:

Project Alpha

The Foundation will annually conduct their local implementation of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.’s national program, Project Alpha, in conjunction with the March of Dimes.  The program targets at risk youth with the goal of educating them through group discussions and role-playing.  Since 2000, over 320 students have participated in Zeta Lambda’s Project Alpha program.

MEGAGENESIS is the Zeta Lambda Education Foundation’s implementation of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.’s national Go–To–High School, Go–To–College program.  It is conducted annually in collaboration with Newport News Public Schools, Cooperating Hampton Roads Organization for Minorities in Engineering, Hampton Roads Chapter of the Links, and Denbigh Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Leadership Development Institute

The Zeta Lambda Education Foundation annually participates in the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.'s Eastern Region Leadership Development Institute (South) by sponsoring male students from peninsula area high schools who show a strong aptitude for leadership.  Additionally, the foundation provides a mentor/chaperone to work on the staff during the program.  Since 2000, over 355 students have been sponsored by Zeta Lambda.

One of the cornerstones of the Zeta Lambda Education Foundation is our ability to provide for our future.  The Zeta Lambda College Scholarship program is in its 17th year providing financial assistance to peninsula area high school students pursuing higher education.   This program conducted annually awards three $1000 scholarships to deserving high school students attending their first year of college and has awarded $39,500 in scholarships since 1995.
